Summer is coming and the need and desire to bring our dogs and / or cats with us will arise.

We must, however, pay close attention to the temperature of our car and we must never leave our friends alone in the car.

Even if we park our car in the shade, our friends may be hit by a heat stroke, due to the rise in temperature inside the car, up to having a circulatory collapse which then leads to death.

Our cars overheat very quickly, even if the outside temperature is only 16 degrees, making the passenger compartment very dangerous.

If the outside temperature is 21 degrees, it can even reach 40 degrees inside the car. Often it is not enough even to lower the window to let the air in to adequately refresh the passenger compartment.

So we must be careful even when we bring our friends to make vaccinations in the summer, because it takes very little that they arrive at the vet with a start of heat stroke putting their health at risk.

How to transport our PETS in summer by car

Try to go out in the less hot hours of the day like in the morning or in the evening.

In the car, use air conditioning to freshen the passenger compartment or alternatively lower the windows and always make sure that your dogs or cats are transported safely inside the carriers or in the appropriate spaces.

Obviously, if air conditioning is used, they must remain away from the air outlet vents.

During the stops NEVER leave the animals alone inside the car but let them go out safely and bring water so you can quench their thirst and refresh.

Make sure that your dog never puts his muzzle out of the window when you travel so as not to incur annoying ear infections or inflammation of the respiratory system.
